Three books. Three very different kinds of trouble. And absolutely nobody we'd trust with our house keys.

This week on Book Slayers, we're diving into six dark fiction reads that explore fate, murder, manipulation and the kind of family drama that makes you want to change your locks.

Bonny books

First, The Revelist by Jacob R. D. Johnson takes us into a supernatural thriller where fortune tellers, conflicting predictions and the question of fate versus free will leave us wondering who's really pulling the strings.

Then we're getting seriously uncomfortable with She Dies in the End by Elle Marr. A body broker discovers her murdered ex among the cadavers she's transporting, and suddenly her complicated past becomes a very dangerous present.

Finally, Don't Let Her Stay by Nicola Sanders brings domestic psychological suspense, an unwelcome houseguest and a family situation that makes us question just how much trouble one person can bring through the front door.

We're discussing what worked, what didn't, our reading verdicts and the characters who made us question everyone's decision-making abilities.

But we're not finished with murder just yet.

Have you read any of these books? Would you agree with our verdicts?

Trust no narrator. Question everyone's alibi. And maybe don't let suspicious people move into your house.
